Assistant Director of Nursing
Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Nursing will support the Director of Nursing (DON) in overseeing the nursing department. This role involves ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining high standards of resident care, supervising and mentoring nursing staff, and helping foster a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and compassion.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Director of Nursing with planning, developing, and directing the nursing department.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as facility policies.
Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
Provide clinical leadership, guidance, and training to nursing staff.
Round with providers when they come to the facility.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support resident-centered care.
Step into the DON role as needed in their absence.
Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Alabama.
Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in long-term care or a related healthcare setting (preferred).
Strong knowledge of nursing regulations and best practices in skilled nursing facilities.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
